Dark Sky License Plate

June 2026. The DMV is in the process of changing its procedures and the design of the DarkSky License Plate. We are not collecting applications at this time. The new design and procedures should be finalized in July 2026.

Unfortunately, we have no control over the current delay. However, the DMV's new processes will be positive and helpful, requiring fewer license plate applications. We will inform everyone who has signed up as soon as details are in place.

Here are the steps to get yours:

1.Fill out a Utah DMV form TC-203 to start your order. Then upload it to this Google form with your contact information. The name of the special group license plate is “Utah’s Dark Skies” and the sponsoring organization is “Utah State Parks.” Note that you need to sign the TC-203 form; you can do this electronically using your pdf viewer, docusign.com and/or by printing and scanning.

2. Sign up on our Shopify site to place your order. The cost is $47.50: $22.50 for the plate itself, plus $25.00 for the (yearly) contribution to the Utah State Parks’ Dark Sky activities. You order now, pay later.

3. Be patient: the state will start production only after 500+ orders. Shouldn’t be long!
