May 11th Statewide Meeting
Statewide Meeting
We're excited to invite you to our next DarkSky Utah event, taking place Monday, May 11th at 7:00 PM via Zoom.
Learn about Dark Sky efforts at Snow Canyon State Park, community science light monitoring around the Great Salt Lake, and how you can be involved!
We're thrilled to introduce our lineup of presenters:
• Cheyenne Winchester, Park Naturalist at Snow Canyon State Park, will speak about the park's newly earned Dark Sky designation and what it means for the region.
• Dr. Heidi Hoven, wetland ecologist and Director of the Gillmor Sanctuary along the Great Salt Lake, will present a community science project she has led to monitor night sky quality in three Utah counties.
• Anil Seth, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Utah, will lead a hands-on Sky Quality Meter (SQM) training.
The evening will wrap up with a networking breakout by region — a great opportunity to connect with others in your community who share a passion for dark skies.
